Travel Tips
~ Pack all medications in your carry on bag. ~ Pack all of your tickets & important documents in your carry on or on your person. DO NOT pack them in your luggage! ~When packing for traveling with a spouse or companion put clothes for both people in each suitcase. If one is misplaced you'll still have something to wear. ~ Do not over pack! Airlines have maximum weight allowances per suitcase and will charge extra for being over the limit. ~ Over-packing a bag wrinkles clothes. If all or most clothes in the suit case match, you'll get several outfits out of a few items and garments will have room to breathe. ~ Collect sample - sized toiletries and leave the big containers home. ~ Never pack full liquid containers: they might freeze & burst in a plane's cargo compartment. If you must pack liquids, make sure the container is only half full. ~ Place items such as shampoo, conditioner, tooth paste, sun tan lotion & similar items in plastic storage bags just in case.
~ Look over your tickets/documents and make sure you understand them. ~ Fill out documents with proper names and spelling. ~ Leave a list of contact numbers, flight information and a copy of your trip itinerary at home or with an emergency contact person. ~ Call the airline ahead of time to confirm your flight, also to check for flight delays. ~ Make sure your passport is valid or you have a certified copy (with raised seal) birth certificate and a government issued Photo ID as of December 31, 2005 everyone traveling with in the Western Hemisphere will have to have a passport to travel. ~ Casual dress is standard for day time. Many resorts have dress code requirements for dining. ~ Casual yet elegant for women. ~ Men are required to wear long pants but not jenas, and shirts with collars. ~ Some gourmet restaurants may require men to wear a jacket ~ Before you pack please check with your travel agent on your resort's dress code.
~ Visa, American Express, & Master Card are accepted in most destinations. ~ Most bank & hotels will provide a currency exchange. ~ Please check with your travel agent for further details.
~TRAVEL INSURANCE IS A MUST! ~ If travel insurance is denied you will asked to sign a waiver of denial. ~Please check with your travel agent for further details.
~ Requests such as adjoining rooms or rooms on the lower floor, special meals or specific assistance needed can be requested but not all resorts will guarantee specials requests. ~ Please check with your travel agent for further details.
~ Check in begins 2 hours prior to departure. ~ Under no circumstances should you check in later than 1 hour before departure. ~ Maximum of 2 bags per passengers ~ Carry on luggage is limited to 1 bag to must fit in the over head compartment or under your seat. ~ Luggage permitted is at each airline's discretion. ~ All luggage should have baggage tags ~ Any lost or damaged checked luggage must be immediately reported to an airline representative. Please do not leave the airport terminal until you have completed a claim form. ~ Please read you tickets carefully, if you have any questions please check with your travel agent.
Getting Married in a Different State ~ Check with the state in which you will be getting married for that state's marriage licensing & requirements.

~ Planning to get married in a resort destination be sure to check with the local tourist office & consulate of the country in which you intend to be marrie for legal documents that may be required.
.~ Some destinations require tourist to purchase tourist cards to enter the country and these need to be purchased at the airport of the country in which you are vacationing.
~ Traveling is no different then being at home remember these precautions: ~ Be aware of your surroundings ~ Do not swim alone. ~ Avoid flashing cash. ~ Avoid going out alone. ~ Beware of dark places & isolated areas.
~ Most hotels and local banks provide a currency exchange. ~ With proper identification, you will be able to exchange money or cash traveler's checks ~ Personal checks, cashier checks and money orders are not accepted at local banks. ~ If you bring cash, please make sure it is not marked or ripped.
Special Cruise Tips ~ In the event that you arrive early to stay over night at the port city, be sure to pack everything you will need for an overnight stay in a separate bag.
~ Day time casual, 1 or 2 swim suits ~ Evening dress code you will need 1 or 2 cocktail dresses or gowns for women. And the men will need a dark suit or tuxedo. ~ Long pants for men excluding Jeans, no shorts or T-shirts allowed in the dining area. ~ Other evening attire ranges from sport coats to casual resort wear. ~ For Alaska cruises, sweaters, light jackets & rain coats are suggested.
~ Most ships have a no visitor policy.
~ Book your shore excursions as early as possible since they fill up fast.
~ How much you tip is a personal matter and completely up to you, however, most cruise ships have a guidelines in regards to what is appropriate. ~ Check with your travel agent for more details.
~ Dinning preference may be requested by your travel agent at the time of booking but no requests are guaranteed. ~ All dining rooms are smoke free. ~ Special diets requirements must be made by your travel agent at least 2 weeks prior to sailing. ~ You should discuss the preparations of menu items with your waiter or head waiter.
